The metal leaf in my paintings is sealed with a multi-step process to ensure it won’t tarnish or flake off. That being said it is still very fine, thin metal leaf and should be treated with care to ensure it doesn’t get scratched so please be careful stacking, leaning the painting onto sharp surfaces etc.

When I apply the metal leaf it is not always a perfect process and you can expect texture, shapes, lines and the background paint layer of the piece to show through in places. I photograph each piece from multiple angles to show all the characteristics of the paint and metal leaf and it’s not intended to look absolutely perfect as the imperfect character of the metal leaf is intended to add to each piece.

Please email me with what you have in mind and I will get back to you within 72 hours. Once we agree upon the general design I require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total price to start the piece.

Custom commissions take 8-12 weeks to complete.

In the event damage has occurred during shipment please send me an email and attach multiple clear, well-lit photos of the damaged work so I can file an insurance claim. We will then work out a repair to the piece or replacement of equal value agreed upon between the purchaser and Kristen Adams Art.
